Adobe Document Server enables you to automate your document production processes and provide your customers and partners with the customised documents that drive business. It integrates tightly with leading enterprise applications as well as custom systems, making it both scalable and flexible enough for any environment. And because it creates Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, the de facto standard for secure and reliable electronic document exchange, Adobe Document Server lets you deliver targeted publishing anytime, anywhere, on any device.

How it works

Adobe Document Server automates the production of complex Adobe PDF documents by assembling XML data with professionally formatted templates incorporating rich visual content. By using form fields that are defined in Adobe PDF documents, Document Server lets you customise documents down to the individual user.

Document Server supports all industry-standard Web services, enabling easy integration with any existing enterprise platform.

Key features

  • Flow XML data into templates using standard XSL-FO formatting.
  • Use Adobe PDF forms as templates and flow data into form fields.
  • Distill pages from Adobe PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript files.
  • Create compound documents by assembling new documents with existing pages, data, and documents.
  • Automatically create a hyperlinked table of contents.
  • Embed XML data and XMP metadata.
  • Extract content from interactive Adobe PDF forms.
  • Generate visually rich charts and graphs tailored to individual users.
  • Create and manipulate PSD, SVG, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, and PNG images using variable data.
  • Take advantage of broad API support for COM, Java, and Perl.
  • Direct SOAP access allows tight integration with Web-based applications.
