iOra SoftCD is a secure and cost-effective solution
for remotely updating information on CD-ROMs.
It is important to note that iOra SoftCD does not physically update
the CD, so it is fully compatible with any read-only CD or DVD drive.
Instead of updating the CD, amendments to the CD are held on the end-users
hard drive and the iOra Client software, as if by magic, makes the CD
or DVD disc appear to have been updated using the updates stored on
the hard drive. The key benefits of SoftCD is that it eliminates the
expense of producing and distributing new CDs as well as allowing CDs
to be updated in minutes, as opposed to the days or weeks needed to
create and distribute new CDs. iOra SoftCD can also safeguards the security
and confidentiality of the contents of CDs and the updates using its
own encryption and password protection. Utilizing iOra's breakthrough
Epsilon Technology, iOra SoftCD transfers new information at up to 100-times
the speed of other techniques, enabling downloads of updates to CDs
in just minutes even over low-bandwidth connections.

iOra SoftCD Publisher.
The iOra Publisher identifies only new or changed bytes
of data on the existing CD and creates highly compressed and encrypted
amendment files which are then stored on a Distribution server, which
can be any standard Web server. The publisher recognises and synchronises
changes in any Windows file type on the CD, including Microsoft Office
files, multimedia presentations, spreadsheets, databases, Adobe PDFs,
and more.
iOra SoftCD Client.
The iOra Client software is distributed
on the originally published CD, enabling the recipient of new amendment
files to update the CD. When the user clicks on the "Update"
button, the iOra Client dials up an Internet connection, downloads any
new amendment files storing them on the hard drive. When the user next
uses any application to access the CD content they will see the new information
on the CD.
Example solutions include:
- Marketing information - Distribute and update collateral to
customers, prospective customers and partners.
- Training - CD or DVD based training courses where the new content
can be revealed using Internet updates.

allow final versions to be updatedly after the event.
- Collectable content - Information on sports events or clubs,
music or film can be sent once and updated electronically.

distributed containing free samples with payments needed to de-crypt
and update the paid-for information.
